The best Christmas gifts for mums

17 Nov 2025 | | By Zoe Gunn

Because, let’s face it, the most important woman in your life deserves a more than a Boots gift set

If your mother is anything like mine every request for ideas for birthday or Christmas gifts are solidly met with a ‘I don’t really need anything’ or ‘Just something small this year’. This, friends, is not true. Turn up to your parents’ house on Christmas morning with nothing but a box of Thorntons and prepare to be on the receiving end of burned roasties and the driest part of the turkey breast.

And, frankly, fair enough. The woman raised, fed, and clothed you for the best part of two decades. The least you can do is put a little thought into her Christmas gift. So please, put down that Yankee Candle and listen up: truly great gift giving lies in the details. Next time you see her take a peek at her jewellery to see if she wears silver or gold, detour into Space NK to see which perfumes she picks up, or subtly ‘tuck in’ the label of her sweater to see which designers she’s favouring right now.

If all else fails, consult my edit of brilliant Christmas gifts for mums. From fabulous fashion picks and excellent accessories to gorgeous homewares and pulling-out-all-the-stops luxury gifts, I like to think there’s something for every mum. You’re welcome.

Gucci cashmere Horsebit jumper

Taken from the Italian house’s Pre-Fall 2025 collection, this understatedly chic design promises Made in Italy quality with a contemporary twist. If this doesn’t impress, nothing will.

Show-stopping luxury gifts

Blackacre Origins white diamond earrings

Really looking to show your appreciation this year? Do it with diamonds. London-based jeweller Blackacre usually specialises in bespoke designs (and should definitely be your go-to if you’re looking for an engagement ring for the other most important woman in your life) but, if you’ve left it a little late this year, allow me to introduce you to Origins. The jewellery house’s first ready-to-wear collection was inspired by the team’s trip to Colombia’s emerald mines and takes form in asymmetrically set white diamonds, emeralds, yellow diamonds and rubies. The subtle flash of colour on the inside of these white gold and diamond hoops takes them to the next level.
